WHO WE ARE

The Archive of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra is located in Barreiro, at the Arco Ribeirinho Sul Business Park, where the Intermediate Archive and the Historical Archive of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra are centralized. This model makes it possible to bring together in a single space all the documentation produced over more than a century, serving both port administrations and the general public, researchers and the scientific community.

MISSION

The Archive’s mission is to provide remote access to the intellectual memory of the Port Administrations of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra.

The documentary collection of the Archive of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra includes documents dating from the 19th century to the present day, relating to the activity of the ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra.

These are unique documents that have endured over time and allow us to understand the evolution of port activity and the waterfront of the Tagus and Sado estuaries.

Endowed with a high informative, historical and cultural value, this collection gives a clear expression of the importance of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra at a cultural level, allowing an integrated vision of their own legacy, history and heritage.

ARCHIVE NOTEBOOKS

The Archive Notebooks collection brings together publications dedicated to the history, heritage and memory of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal and Sesimbra. Each volume explores relevant themes from the documentary and photographic collection, promoting research and the dissemination of port heritage.
